Most people searching for a whole house water filter are not looking for a small bench-top jug. They are trying to work out whether one system can improve the water before it reaches the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and appliances.
Start with your water source
Mains water, rainwater tanks and bore water can all need different treatment. Mains water buyers often care about chlorine taste, odour, sediment and PFAS. Tank and bore water may need testing first because the right setup depends on the actual water quality.
Match the filter to the concern
For taste and smell, look at the carbon stage. For grit, rust and fine particles, look at sediment filtration. For PFAS, do not rely on vague claims. Check flow rate and capacity
A whole-house system has to keep up with showers, taps and appliances, and keep working over time. The AquaCo Premium PFAS system is rated to 300,000 litres capacity and up to 60 LPM flow, with a maximum inlet pressure of 90 PSI. If your home's mains pressure runs higher than that, a pressure limiting valve needs to go in ahead of the filter.
